Sarah Howes Cycling on the Uzbekistan tour with redspokes

Sarah Howes from Tonbridge, England, United Kingdom rates our Uzbekistan cycling holiday at 4 out of 5

This was my first time travelling with Redspokes and the cycle tour in Uzbekistan did not disappoint – it was a fantastic experience. Although a regular cyclist, mountaineer and camper, I’d never done a cycling trip like this before or visited this part of the world so for me it was such an adventure! Riding through the arid and desolate landscape, dotted with colourful oases and villages that seemed straight out of the Old Testament (albeit now with electricity, cars and mobile phones!) meant we truly saw the real Uzbekistan. Riding over the vast high plateaux was exhilarating and great fun! There was also some very challenging terrain at times.

The support crew were absolutely fantastic and looked after us really well. They provided plenty of food & drink, and a huge variety, three times a day. Camp was always tidy, well organised, bikes checked and fixed/adjusted and even hot water for the shower tent. Sightseeing in Bukhara, Samarkand and Khiva was absolutely fascinating and a great complement to the ‘wild’ part of the trip.

Currently we have no reviews of this trip as its a new redspokes trip for 2019. We're sure people will enjoy this facinating tour that takes in rainforest, dramatic ravines, the Andean puna and dazzling white salt flats set against cobalt blue skies. Indigenous cultures, colonial influences and thriving wine production make this an area rich in geographical, historical and contemporary charms.

Graeme Guilford from Matamata, New Zealand rates our Colombia - Medellin to Bogota cycling holiday at 5 out of 5

In Colombia we got to experience City's small towns and rural environments.
Meeting local people and getting to know the real Colombia. We had a really good group and Adrian and Javier did a great job. This is my 6th trip with redspokes and they have all been awesome experiences. Definitely will be doing some more.

Colombia deserves to be known for it's good side, the magnificent landscape, the really friendly, polite and gracious people we met everywhere we went. Don't let the negative cover about drugs and violence put you off. Riding in a group with redspokes is very safe and a great way to see the countryside. Adrian and Javier took really good care of us all, with Adrian whipping out delicious fresh fruit and guava jelly bars just as everyone was starting to flag going up the interminable hills! The only thing about riding in Colombia is that there's no avoiding hills! Even the flat bits seem to be at least undulating! You just have to grit your teeth and face up to them! We had a great group of riders who were all about the same level, and we had a lot of laughs!

All guides were very helpful and make the trip fun. The scenery is incredible and the hills very challenging. As the trip covered some beautiful small towns as well as the two largest cities I felt that we got to see a good cross section of Colombia. I would love for others to discover the magic of Colombia

David Mercer Cycling on the Scotland - Highlands and Islands tour with redspokes

Scotland - Highlands and Islands

David Mercer from Middlesbrough, England rates our Scotland - Highlands and Islands cycling holiday at 5 out of 5

It was great to ride with redspokes again, this was a potentially tricky tour with quite a few ferries to catch, variable Scottish weather, not too many alternative choices of food or accommodation if timings went wrong, Demot made it all look effortless, modifying the rides if necessary to ensure we stayed on track. He is a very motivating and enthusiastic tour leader, always being there when some encouragement is needed to get to the top of a hill.
The group rode well together, no one really ahead or behind, again with Dermot watching out to make sure we could all cope with the route, and providing a much needed stop with a cake and cup of tea at the critical moments.
A really enjoyable tour, with the hills and the weather providing a nice challenge and sense of achievement at the end of each day
