China offers extraordinary variety for adventurous cyclists, from the mountains, ancient towns and diverse cultures of Yunnan to the vast landscapes of Tibet and the historic trading routes of the far west. These are journeys that take you well beyond the country’s great cities and into some of its most spectacular and remote regions.

Our China – Yunnan tour explores the landscapes of southwest China, travelling from Shangri-La through Tiger Leaping Gorge and beneath Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to historic Lijiang and Dali. The Karakoram Highway journey takes you through Kashgar and the mountains of western China before continuing towards Pakistan, while Lhasa to Kathmandu crosses the high Tibetan Plateau, visiting Everest Base Camp before descending through the Himalayas into Nepal.

Together, these three adventures combine challenging cycling, remarkable mountain scenery and encounters with the different cultures and communities that make this vast part of Asia so fascinating to explore by bike.
