Testimonials
We are dedicated to delivering fantastic cycling holidays through the most spectacular regions of the world, offering fascinating sceneries and immense cultural interest.
But don't just take our word for it, here is what our customers have had to say about redspokes and our services...

Kim Mygatt, Santa Cruz, California, USA
Geronimo and Diego were the best guides ever! (give them a big bonus, please!) The scenery was spectacular, and we had pristine weather to boot. The group was really enjoyable and fun. The steak dinner we had in Bariloche was one of the best ever! The roads were often empty, which was nice. I didn't know Chile and Argentina were so beautiful! I'd like to go back! Thank you for a great experience.

Judith Evans, York, England
This trip was such an adventure for us. Vietnam is an amazing and interesting place. The people have had to deal with so much recent history of battles and wars yet they are not resentful -they are friendly, lively, fun, positive, forward thinking and proud of their country. The scenery and countryside was varied and spectacular- made so much more interesting by Phong our guide who seemed to be able to answer all our many questions be it flora, fauna, history geography economics etc.-his command of English even allowed him to joke and tease- quite remarkable when it is not your first language. The cycling lived up to expectations- and for me was quite a challenge but I'm proud to say I completed it without having to resort to the support van -even the 26km climb. The downhills and stunning views were well worth the hard toil up hill. I would certainly recommend this holiday to anyone who cycles-a fabulous introduction to Vietnam.

Scott Gillespie, Reading, United Kingdom
This trip was quite easily one of the best things I have ever done! The scenery was even more spectacular than I even imagined it would be, although there were some challenging days of cycling the stunning scenery and the friends I made on the trip took my mind of the hills!
The days were filled with some of the best cycling I have ever done and the evenings were filled with some of the best food, wine, laughs and company that I could wish for! It was an extraordinary two week trip which absolutely flew by but had the most amazing time and have some great memories to look back on!
Alex Whitton, Bristol, England
This was the most exciting cycling adventure I've done to date. There was a lot of variety in the cycling, which kept it interesting. We started off cycling through the scorched, low-lying countryside to the south of Diyarbakir, then towards the end of the trip we climbed soaring mountain passes near Van Lake. Cooler, but more challenging!
The scenery was breathtaking but the best part of the trip for me was meeting the Kurdish people and hearing their stories. Even though at times it was heartbreaking to hear what they had to say, I feel like it was well worth it, and I have come away from this trip with a great respect for the Kurdish people, the culture and their views.
In spite of their troubled history, they are some of the kindest and most welcoming people you could hope to meet '“ we were treated to an impromptu f lunch by locals who had never seen tourists there before and were excited to talk to us. We were even lucky enough to attend three weddings in our time there '“ the music and learning their dance moves was great fun!
This trip is the real thing - I would highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of adventure wanting to try something a bit different.
Derek Wright, Worldwide Nomad
Fabulous!
I've travelled all over the world and been on many redspokes tours but this trip will be remember for a long time!
It's an absolute classic tour if you like cycling on scenic roads no tourist had travelled on. Meeting generous, hospitable locals and don't mind a couple of basic nights accommodation in the more rural parts. If the place stays politically stable I expect in time it will become a must for adventure travellers!
Katja Stille, Berlin, Germany
This was the best of the redspokes tours I have been on. Even weeks afterwards the trip the amazing feeling of cycling through this stunning mountain scenery and across wide open planes is undiminished.
The small towns and villages we passed through provided an real insight into day-to-day life as well as the complex history of the area. Above all, the people we met made this tour so special. In the context of the past and current political situation these meeting were similarly humbling and inspiring and the hospitality we experienced was truly wonderful. Thank you Dermot, for inviting me on this trip and give my thanks to Cilem and the drivers for looking after us so well.

Piero Tassinari, Meldola, Italy
Well, it has been the second time I've bike toured with redspokes and again I must say I've been really happy with this Laos esperience. The scenery has been stunning, the contact with the locals wonderful, the cycling pretty challenging; I dare saying ... don't try this tour if you aren't well trained and very determined to face some very tough days!
The home stay in the village has been an unforgettable chance of witnessing the daily life of the rural people .... absolutely anthropologically interesting! We visited the local school supported by redspokes ... having been a primary school teacher all my life this too has been a very moving moment! The cycling group has been a fun enjoyable crew; I would say choosing redspokes has proved a guarantee of a well assorted bunch of cyclists. Thank you redspokes!

Jenny Nicoll, Sussex, England, UK
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed last Christmas/New Year in Laos. Know my comments are a little late but I've not long been back in the UK. Do you remember that the tour was part of my round the world travels and it was the first time I had ever been on a cycle tour as well as travelling on my own. I had an amazing time travelling, visiting over 10 countries in just 6mths. Now I'm back, friends often ask where was my favourite place. Of course that is difficult to answer as I've had a great time nearly everywhere I went experiencing many cultures and doing some amazing things. However, I must say that the cycle tour comes right up at the top of my list for an overall adventure. I loved Laos, the people the country and the actual challenge of the cycling, which I did find tough at times.Ben and Ken were both great and very supportive and I thought the tour was very well organized. I was so glad that I decided to include this as part of my travels and would love to do another one sometime.

Lien De Brouckere, Washington, USA
My first adventure cycling tour -- better than I could have imagined! Stunning scenery in Pakistan, which we enjoyed on bumpy off-roads through hospitable villages and on the pristine tarmac of the KKH. Next some cold days in China, and then warm greetings, gorgeous horses and more mountains in Kyrgyzstan. I was nervous in the beginning as a newbie to mountain biking, but thanks to the supportive and fun group, I came away a much better rider at the end!

Michael Burgener, Ottawa, Canada
This was an excellent tour with many great memories. I particularly liked the rides to/from Chirah and Shimshal. Ideally we would have ridden up to Shimshal instead of just down (no loss for me since I had an injured hand that day and would not have been able to ride up). I realize it would be a fairly challenging climb up. Giles is a very competent guide and a saint. He managed difficult situations with great skill, applied first aid, as was needed from time to time (I was a beneficiary) and handled changes in itinerary well, keeping us up to date. I'd be happy to go on any tour led by Giles.

Marie Sadler, Dunstable, England, UK
This is my fourth tour with redspokes. The whole trip from start to finish was well organised with a terriffic support team, nothing was too much trouble. The cycling was fantastic in a dramatic and spectacular part of the world. Awe inspiring scenery. redspokes never fail to give you a true sense of the country its culture and people. It is also a privilege to travel with a wonderful group of cyclists. The hardest thing to do now is decide which trip to do next!

David Grist, Leeds, England
Brilliant trip! The accommodation was a lot better than expected for the areas we visited. Would have rated the redspokes guide Giles along with the Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan guides higher if there was a category above excellent, thanks for a great trip. Its difficult to select the highlights, so many but would probably pick the Hunza valley for the mountain scenery and the lake crossing, pity the tunnel will be finished next year and rob the pleasure for future travellers, thanks again!

Pat and Keith Green, Dudley, England
We thoroughly enjoyed the KKH Tour. Our guide Giles was excellent and did very well sorting out unforeseen problems, Our local guides in Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan were also very pleasant and helpful, as were the local people. The scenery in all three countries was spectacular and the cycling was very varied. Rough rocky tracks on narrow cliff roads leading to local villages, to straight, wide tarmac roads with little or no traffic. We cycled with a great group of people and stayed in some comfortable places, especially the homes stays in Kyrgyzstan.

Ros Lawson, Edinburgh, Scotland
Another outstanding trip with redspokes and another trip that begins with lovely accommodation that deteriorates the more rural you get! This is however, part of a personal challenge & one that really can't be avoided if you want to visit parts of Burma (Myanmar) that are as yet un-Westernised.
It is an incredibly beautiful country with lovely welcoming people & an abundance of temples! Highlights of the trip were Bagan & Ngapali Beach. I would have happily had an extra day at the beach & extended the trip slightly, (I'm sure others would agree).

Richard Searle, Hornsby NSW Australia
Great trip, I particularly recommend a Pakistan only trip if this is run in future. The parts of the country we visited are frendly, have great scenary, and an established tourist industry that just needs its customers to return _400x0.jpg)
Steve Colligan, Manchester, England, UK
Tackling the Roof of the World and Everest on my unicycle was the hardest thing I've ever attempted on one wheel. When you look at the obstacles facing you, whether it's the high mountain passes, the rocky dirt tracks, sub-zero ferocious winds, the thin air at high altitudes, or just the massive distances needed to cover -there's just nothing going for you. This was even more apparent riding the unicycle. As I write, I still can't believe how much I had to push my body to its limits to achieve my goal of completing the ride from Lhasa to Kathmandu. It was hard, very hard. But what a fantastic adventure - I wouldn't have missed it for the world!
I would like to thank Dermot (redspokes) for believing in me and agreeing to let me join the tour in the first place. From the first phone call with Dermot he was so supportive and encouraging, and has been throughout. Thank you for that. Unicycling with a group of mountain bikers did mean that I had different requirements and needs to the rest of the group. These were all met without compromising the others and their needs. In fact the whole group were always there with their words of encouragement and support. Thank you everyone for that.
Throughout, Suresh, redspokes' Nepali mountain bike guide and tour leader, was the perfect leader and guide. Having ridden this route 21 times he had so much experience which helped this tour run smoothly and without problems. The Nepali camp crew were excellent. Great food, which was always varied and healthy, whether it was first thing in the day, on the ride itself, or for the three course evening meal. The tunnel tents were spacious and we even had a Western style loo (not en-suite though). In camp we were always well looked after - nothing was too much trouble for them.
The Tibetan guide was always informative when visiting monasteries and other places of interest. Tensing was always there to help you, or to answer your endless questions. Thank you Tensing for your endless support with my extra long days on the unicycle.Overall, I rate redspokes as a very professional adventure tour company. Would I go on another one of their tours? Only if I can take my unicycle!
Ms Deborah Hammond, Washington, USA
Some of the service provided was amazing - the guides washed and lubed my bike when I thoroughly expected to take care of my own bike.
Great local restaurants including a sort of treehouse near Tonle Sap lake Back roads travel, visits to small farms and village temples All good!
Bradley Walsh, Albany, Australia
A fantastic trip through real China. Definitely will be heading back to continue the adventure.
Chris Darke, Oxfordshire, England, UK
This trip was everything redspokes said it would be and more and I am very glad to have done it. It was physically challenging and I wondered whether I was up to it but the planning and organisation by redspokes who know a thing or two about these matters was first class which at aged 60 made it a within my capabilities.
For anyone who has never been to the Himalayas this trip is perfect to reveal both its magnificence and its magic. Truly an outstanding experience that will remain with me for the rest of my life and I have no hesitation in recommending it and redspokes.

Mike Litchfield, Australia
For adventure "junkies" this had it all, fantastic scenery, challenging riding and a great feeling of accomplishment riding some of the highest roads in the world ! Raju, Naveen, Vee and the team were terrific in ensuring needs were met as well as providing a supportive and encouraging role. A must do trip !
Robert Burford, Luton, UK
My third redspokes trip, and well done the support team, for introducing Nepal and Tibet in a way which was endearing to the Local people and scenery to be in awe of. Off road and road cycling is very exciting a challenge all round. The cycling is Tough but worth every Pedal.
Mile after mile of scenery and happy banter with my fellow cyclists and Everest was the prize. Thank you so much to you all for making my experience in Tibet and Nepal a very memorable time.

James Ginn, Gore, Canada
I was totally spoiled by this trip from the great food to the incredible organization as well as the friendliness of the people we met along the way. With a great guide Eduardo and his support team of Alex and Lucho and the camaraderie of the group this was a tour by which I will gauge all future tours.
But in the end it is the spectacular scenery under the blue Andean sky that turns this trip into a cycling dream. Although every day was scenic I will always remember those long rides on the shores of Lake Titicaca as being nothing less than a cyclist's heaven. For one can look at all the pictures one wants but they will never relate to you the depth of the experience of this tour. So all I can say is '˜get on your bike and do some weekly sprints for a couple of months and then sign up for a redspokes tour that will not disappoint'. Hasta la vista...baby.

Aniki and Henk, Netherlands
The Himalaya trip was truly magnificent: beautiful scenery, high challenging mountains, interesting and impressive culture. This all went smoothly due to reliable local crew: many thanks to Raju, Sabu and Keshu and all other crew members!

Peter Dilks, Christchurch, New Zealand
Another really enjoyable redspokes trip. It was great to get to such out-of-the-way places, well off the tourist routes and get a unique experience of China. The contrast between the cities, "tourist towns" and the rural areas was very marked and a highlight of the trip.

Tony Tapp, Plymouth, England, UK
A brilliant experience - helped in no small part by the camaraderie and friendship of the others in the small group of "conejillo de indias" cyclists. As it was the first time that the tour had run a few route detours and minor modifications to the preliminary schedule were to be expected; luckily Dermot and his dependable local support crew of Eduardo, Bernabe and Alex were always up to the challenges which were thrust upon them at irregular (but fairly frequent) intervals, and in the majority of cases the spontaneously revised schedule then presented us with unique and unexpected opportunities - street parties, bullfights and an early-morning stoop through church catacombs were certainly not on the original tour agenda!

Chris Reid, New York, USA
I loved redspokes. Highlights were the country, terrain, Eduardo, fellow guests and logistical organization. I would love to ride with redspokes again.
Graeme Guilford, Waikato, New Zealand
Had a really good time but found the altitude difficult. I was able to manage my way through by resting in the support van when I was struggling . Such an interesting country, glad I went. Three hours down hill on the death road day was brilliant.

Jayne Wadsworth, London, UK
Great cycling, great people, great organisation and incredible countries!

Sue Finlayson, 22/09/2014
A fantastic way to visit a country and experience the different environments within it. The guides, mechanic and drivers were excellent in their roles of getting us from A to B safely. The differing accommodation through out the trip added to experience. Overall a wonderful experience - well done redspokes!

Rodney Ross, Hong Kong
What an adventure. The redspokes team lead by Raju and Manny looked after us from beginning to end. They listened, advised, adjusted, worried, supported, celebrated, entertained and helped make a memorable trip.
Apart from the amazing location, other participants were a highlight. Interesting fun thoughtful considerate people, always willing to give a helping hand and teach you how to climb a hill efficiently or adjust brakes effectively, or to laugh and share the journey. Two even returned after a 5000m+ pass to encourage me on the last 1km as I struggled up. A great trip, great people, great scenery.

Ox and his team exceeded my expectations, they were extremely professional and did everything in their power to make the tour run as smoothly as possible. Whenever something went wrong, such as when Tobi and I had our flight to Jomsom cancelled for two days in a row due to bad weather, Ox would pour limitless energy into resolving the problem. In the case of the Jomsom flight problem, we watched other tour groups turn sour as their prospects of getting on a flight vanished. We were lucky to have Ox, while the other groups were arguing with the airline he was quietly booking us on the next helicopter up.
Ox was also extremely good at understanding what each person in the group expected out of the tour. He had guides to go ahead with the fast riders, he made sure the slow riders were ok and encouraged them to take their time and enjoy, he always made sure the end of the day was as organized as possible and he was always up in the morning making sure the bikes were ready and the plans for the day organized. On our days off he was also busy working and his boys busy cleaning bikes.
Without Ox this trip would have been much less enjoyable, he socialized extremely well with all people in the tour, and has an extremely large Nepalese social network to draw help from when something needs to be resolved or fixed. Ox and his team were absolutely committed to making the most out of the tour, his guides and driver were also extraordinary.
In conclusion - I don't think there is another Ox, or team as strong as his, in Kathmandu.

AJ Smith, London, UK
Peru to Bolivia was one of the best trips of my life. It was my first tour through another country on a bike and it most definitely will not be the last. It's the best way to see a country - you see everything, no flying over what could be below/sitting on a bus for hours missing everything you past by. You see everything and get a real feel for what makes the country tick. Eduardo, Alex were the best cycling buddies and Lucho did so well on the Road of Death!! Such a good trip!

Rebecca Wardell, New Zealand
The trip was outstanding, had an amazing time and it was really well organised, thank you, a trip of a lifetime!

Paul Brown, Cumbernauld, Scotland
The timing of this trip added to a desire to gain a little understanding of the complexities of the region.
The guide was simply outstanding. She is the embodiment of the Turkish Kurds mindset. She also demonstrates the tolerance of the Kurds and their desire to move forward to a progressive inclusive society within Turkey.
We saw this on many occasions in small villages where locals who had never seen tourists before were keen to welcome us and provide hospitality to us. They provided safety to refugees who told us their heartbreaking personal stories. And they lived in harmony with neighbours of different religions all working together to ensure the peace process is successful.
The landscape was dramatic particularly in the second week. The small communities we visited were curious and welcoming (we were guests at three different weddings).
Thanks Dermot for giving me a small insight into a different culture.

Andy Green, Isle of Wight
There are many variables which contribute to an enjoyable cycle tour - the scenery, the people, the local history, the hospitality, the accommodation, the weather, the food, the guides, the roads - to name but a few.
This tour improved day on day until it peaked during the second week; a week where all the variables came together and gave me some of my most memorable and enjoyable days on a bicycle.
The Kurdish people are truly generous hosts and I will always cherish my memories of this part of the world.

Rita Gough, Preston, England
This tour excelled all my expectations, which I should acknowledge were high due to the fabulous redspokes tours I have been on before.
Dermot, Cilem and the drivers were brilliant. Special thanks to Cilem who knew the area inside out, was loads of fun and great company.
The area was magnificent and the people wonderful. The Kurds must surely be the most welcoming and friendliest people. It was humbling to share chi with them and hear about their experiences. There are too many experiences that stand out so it is hard to pick one out from:
Good cycling, lovely people, wonderful landscape and an area few tourists have visited and what a welcome we had!
Thank you

This was one of the most spectacular trips I have ever been on! The scenery was varied, awe inspiring, amazing people, very unique culture and environment. The trip was very well organised with a daily routine of: wake up to bowl of hot water, eat yummy cooked breakfast, ride all day with lunch prepared for us : ), eat some more, sleep and do it all again!
Just thinking about it brings a huge smile to my face! It was truly a trip of a lifetime! I can very strongly recommend it.

Kathryn Mayne, Boulmer, Northumberland, England
A unique opportunity to explore and experience a part of the world with many layers of ancient history and a strong regional culture which still survives despite the challenges of recent decades.
Lots of 'big' scenery with a chance to stop and take a glass of tea in small villages along the way with the most open, warm and welcoming of people.

Bill Silvester, Australia
Another awesome trip. Fantastic support from the local team, and another excellent group. Only problem was it finished too soon - please could you make the road a bit longer next time!

Dave Short, County Durham, UK
Trip was excellent with great leadership by Eduardo and helped by a very strong crew even though some of them were new. All were helpful and friendly at all times. They all helped to create strong team bonding amongst the team. _400x0.jpg)
Nigel Fielden, Cheshire, England, UK
Definitely the best way to see and get a feel for Colombia. Wonderful cycling through a beautiful part of the country.
Support crew, as usual, were spot on - helpful, smiling and patient.
Tony Hocking, Melbourne, Australia
The trip was well organized from start to finish, excellent tour guides - personable and informed and did everything possible to make the tour enjoyable and the cyclists tour group got on well together.
All the tour guides were interested and pleased to be on the tour.

A wonderful, memorable and challenging experience made all the more amazing with the non-stop support of the dedicated and friendly crew. We cannot wait for our next two wheel adventure..

Our trip to Kyrgyzstan was unforgettable. The scenery took our breath away, our fellow travellers were great company, and the local hospitality was second to none.
The trip was my biggest cycling challenge yet, and yet has left me excited for more!
Michael Tanner, Victoria, Canada
This trip is a great way to see different regions and highlights of Peru. Cycling through the mountains and valleys of the Andes is magnificent and breathtaking (figuratively, and literally at the higher altitudes). Some of the climbs are not easy, but are doable with steady perseverance and a can-do attitude.
Our cycling guides Rudy and Louise really worked to make everything enjoyable and operate smoothly, and Louise's picnic lunches always hit the spot. The Inca Trail trek and Machu Picchu were the icing on the cake - as memorable as they say.

Just a short note to redspokes to say a large thank you to everyone for providing the framework and support for a most incredible journey travelling from Lhasa to Kathmandu.
Having booked with larger companies in the past [and been some what disappointed] I can say that redspokes have got the blend of adventure and personal endeavour balanced perfectly with the ease of organisation and back-up that your team provided, down to a fine art. A most fantastic trip that I would recommend to anyone who wants to experience something quite different. I hope to join you soon on another journey.

Nicola Hardie, Paris, France
Just loved it! Perfect balance of sport, culture, contact with local people, stunning landscapes off the beaten track, fun, chilled beer time and great fun. Can't recommend it enough.

Steve Cuming, Wellington, New Zealand
Yet another wonderful trip from the folks at redspokes, one that allow's you to see the real essence of the country and it's melting pot of people. The North of the country is for the most part off the regular tourist trail and better for it, the people are friendly, receptive and not averse to inviting unusually clad, complete strangers into their home for a cup of green tea. Great company with like minded souls who enjoy riding and something a little different in a holiday. Another winner from the team at redspokes.
Phil Marshalsea, London, UK
Amazing scenery, friendly people and redspokes guides and support crew made this a memorable trip for me. Highlights include cycling in misty mountain foothills and the kids shouting "Heeeeloo" at every village.

Laura Donovan, South London, UK
The redspokes trip to China was an amazing experience. Two weeks felt like two months. The guides were fantastic and we visited rural areas of China which are rarely visited by Chinese tourists let alone foreigners. The scenery was truly spectacular and I felt that we were able to have an genuine insight into the minority people of China. The Chinese people were so welcoming and hospitable, I would highly recommend this trip.

Perfect escape from the wet and cold UK winter.
Comparatively easy cycling, coupled with attractive destinations each day, make this a relaxing and enjoyable tour.

Louise Ryan, Umina Beach, NSW, Australia
I loved everything about this trip! We were lucky that our small group size allowed for highly personalized attention from our guides. In fact, our tour leader, Phong, felt more like a knowledgeable friend and travelling companion than a paid guide. His outstanding command of English allowed for lots of fun banter as well as meaningful discussions, especially about Vietnamese history and culture. I learned so much. I found the cycling challenging in a positive and often exhilarating way. I'll be coming back again to do the North East Vietnam trip with Phong for sure!

Jonathan Pearce, Marrickville, NSW, Australia
North-West Vietnam is a beautiful part of the world and excellent for mountain biking! The hills were challenging- the views were worth it and the downhills exhilarating. Culturally, we were lucky enough to have our trip coincide with the 60th commemoration of Dien Bien Phu, meeting interesting groups of veterans en route in local hotels. Their interest and generosity was touching- plenty of shared rice wine!Phong and his crew were first rate: helpful, patient and always available to help us experience interactions with the local culture and people. hotels and food were great.

Chris Cammidge, Leigh on Sea, England, UK
The attention to detail of the tour leader Ox was very impressive. There was a lot of thought and care put into this trip and it made it a very good one. I loved interacting with the Nepalese, cooking, dancing, ploughing, rice planting, monks prayers and tours of the temples made you feel as though you really got to know Nepal. The Himalayas were truly amazing.
A thoroughly enjoyable tour.

Joseph Lee, Toronto, Canada
Cycling the back half of the Annapurna circuit was incredible. Easily some of the most spectacular cycling I’ve ever done. And the ride from Daman down to Hetauda, with 50 kilometres of almost uninterrupted freewheeling will never be forgotten. This is an incredible tour!

Trevor Andrews, Hampshire, England, UK
A very good trip that provides a varied selection of rides that cover all the main terrains that Nepal has to offer. The eleven days of cycling provide everything from a city tour of Kathmandu to the extremes of cycling at over 3,500 metres in the arid and barren Himalayan landscape that is so visually impressive that it's hard to describe to people who haven't experienced it.
In between you explore the hills (2,500 metres at Damam) and the flat of the Terai. All of this combined with very friendly and helpful locals and fabulous food. A trip that should not be missed.

Michael Glodowski, Wisconsin, USA
Ox and his team were wonderful, removing any support concerns allowing our group to fully enjoy this wonderful country. The Nepal tour is my seventh Redspokes tour. My wife and I truly enjoy these wonderful experiences!

Barbara Bennett, Swanage, UK
This is a wonderful area of Vietnam to visit and bicycle tour is a great way to see it. I went on a southern cycle tour about 8 years ago with a different tour company and although interesting - this was quite a different experience. This was much more the Vietnam of regional costumes, terraced rice paddies and wandering livestock. The redspokes tour was well organised and all accommodation was sufficient with possibly one exception - however we were staying in the only guest house in town so poor plumbing and a rock hard bed had to be overlooked. Overall very enjoyable.

Ox and his team. Sunnil, Ram. Were awesome. They made it very easy for us to enjoy ourselves. They kept us on track, well fed, informed. It was an amazing trip. Got to see remote Buddhist Temples, Rhinos, bike in the Himalayas, eat lots of Dal Bat, and bike in all types of climate. Wild. I already want to go back.
My flight time changed last second and I found out 25 minutes before departure and somehow Ox and Sunnil got me to the flight on time. We were in the middle of Kathmandu. Good work. I would highly recommend taking a trip with Ox and his team.

Natasha Herman, Alberta, Canada
This tour was a great challenge, but I never felt like I was over my head. The guides were encouraging and supportive and I loved the Big Yellow Bus! The route included the best scenic views of Chile and Argentina and took me to beautiful remote rural homesteads. I would definitely do another redspokes tour again!
David Harrington, Davis, California, USA
What absolutely delightful, charming, friendly, and most helpful staff we had to look after us: to make sure we remained safe while on our bikes, to make sure we were well hydrated and fed along the routes, to tend to our luggage before we knew it needed tending, to kept us informed and to educate us, to take care of the nearly endless little details and behind the scenes scrambling and work, and to make sure we enjoyed our Myanmar journey every step and pedal of the way!
"You want ice cream? We will get that across the street for you!" "How big is the pool? We will measure it for you (22 x 34')!" "You are not feeling up for dinner? We will give you Choco-Pie snacks now for when you wake up hungry at midnight!"
Kalayar was absolutely the sweetest and most genuinely caring woman I've ever encountered on a tour; she considered the six of us bikers her "children" in looking after our well-being, health, safety, and happiness for the entire two weeks. She also looks after her crew and fellow country men and women with the same concern, donating food or money to road crews as we biked throughout the country, supporting education with school supplies and books, and so many more things that we are certainly unaware.
The landscapes were varied and beautiful, the routes and roads challenging but not an issue with the excellent front suspension Trek 4300s, the weather nearly ideal (save for a few days with rain showers and occasional downpours), and the locals we encountered through every village simply the most sweet, friendly, curious, and happily smiling people in the world! Myanmar is relatively still a land and people beautifully untouched by outsiders, especially when compared to the many neighboring countries in SE Asia that have been increasingly influenced for decades. This precious gift won't last forever. Please start training now and give beautiful Kalayar a loving hug from Lu Kong Gee Koko and Ah Shay Gee Nyi from California!
Wally Dumont, Alberta, Canada
Our guides, Marcelo, Angel, Diego and Yal were great and were always monitoring and tweaking the program to make the best of our trip. Would gladly do another tour with this group.

The local Laos team were outstanding and great to be with - Khen, Daolit, May and Khen the driver. They're committed to what they do and obviously enjoy it - Khen had some of his family helping at various points. Ken and Daolit have excellent English and interpersonal skills and good local knowledge; they give useful cultural dimensions which is useful.
I loved Laos - a special trip - one of my best adventures so far: it combined activity, beautiful scenery, great people, delicious food and cultural insights.

"An excellent and truly memorable experience.
Well done redspokes - we'll be back."
Tony Halahan, Oetrange, Luxembourg
This was my first cycle organised tour and it was monumental. The tour leader David was very attentive, knowledgeable and switched on, and the support provided by the local Thai cycle company was good. The other guests were also very keen and interesting. The preparation for the tour was thorough, the daily agenda was perfect. Accommodation and food was very adequate and allowed us to really enjoy the Thai way of life.
I would recommend this tour to adventurers who like plenty of cycling (on 2 days we did over 100km), and a close look at Thai people and their country.

John Pech and Rosemary Mapletoft, Victoria, Australia
We highly recommend this trip. It is physically and psychologically challenging, but with good preparation the satisfaction with completing the ride is immense. All of this in a spectacular mountain setting. We think the 24 day format is excellent in allowing time for acclimatization and savouring the experience.
Excellent work from the whole support team meant all our needs and wants were met, leaving us free to concentrate on cycling and enjoyment. Thanks to redspokes for an unforgettable cycling experience!!

I would go back in a heartbeat. I had so much fun with great people and met more wonderful people. It is the one holiday I will never forget, I think it will change my view on life forever. A lady from a small tour group in a minibus said we were mad! No you are! we see everything, you see a few chosen points along the way.

This was a fantastic trip. Whilst I didn't find the cycling particularly challenging, there was a nice balance between cycle days and sights / rest days. More time at the beach would have been good. I thought Julian was an outstanding leader. He was organised, supportive towards those who were finding it difficult, encouraging towards others to get the best out of them and overall a very friendly and personable guy. 5*

Hannah MacDonald, Liverpool, England, UK
A fantastic trip with a great group of people and a redspokes crew who really were outstanding.
Once again I feel humbled by the hospitality that we received. A beautiful country rich in so many ways, redspokes offering a true insight.

We both enjoyed the trip to Myanamar. The locals seemed really pleased to see us and were very friendly. The scenery was very green and lush with lots of colorful flowers and there were lots of cultural things to see. The whole team looked after us very well and the riding group itself was good fun.

Kathryn Mayne, Boulmer, England
I was very impressed with local crew who were keen to make our visit as smooth and interesting as possible. Visiting a variety of areas of Myanmar, the city, the hills, the valleys, and the beach all added to the overall experience of trip.

A fantastic and unforgettable cycling adventure. Experienced Colombian people as very hospitable and welcoming of us as cyclists exploring part of their country. Involving Melba and her family meant we had a very special experience of life in rural Columbia which we will always remember as a special time in our lives...Thank you Dermot and the team!

The tour provided us with a memorable opportunity to see and come in contact with a beautiful country and its people, certainly before it becomes commercialized and further developed. As we cycled deeper into rural areas the dress, appearance and demeanor of the people became much more interesting. As with new tours or those that push the boundaries into less developed areas there were a few unforeseen challenges presented to our group and the local crew, though these challenges were certainly worth the overall experience and I expect logistics will continue to improve as the tour evolves. Nevertheless the support crew attempted to the very best of there ability to ensure all riders were provided for.
Special thanks to the crew for decorating the restaurant and gifts to my wife and I as we celebrated our 30 year wedding anniversary on beautiful Ngapali Beach thus making it the most memorable anniversary yet.

Another great trip with redspokes - the Colombian people could not have been more welcoming as we cycled through the region.
The scenery was spectacular. Lots of challenging climbs but as the old adage goes "what goes up, must come down!" Highly recommend redspokes for those who really want to experience the country.

A great trip with a lovely crew (redspokes is lucky to have them) - a pleasure to see Burma before tourism and the modern world take hold.
Cheryl Hyslop and Mike Burgener, Ottawa, Canada
We've already recommended this trip to our friends! The tour made it easy for us to see aspects of Burma that we never would have uncovered on our own. It was very well organized and the local support team was amazing ! They could not have been more accommodating and helpful.

I really enjoyed my redspokes trip to Colombia. This ride took us into Central Colombia where we were given an honest look at the rural Colombian way of life. This ride is in no way sugar coated with extras, the food was plentiful but repetitive, the riding was challenging but rewarding, the Colombians were friendly and giving, the support staff were wonderful and the scenery was worth every drop of sweat it took to climb to the top of the mountains.

Kristina Isberg, California, USA
Burma is an incredible place to cycle, and I'm so glad I did the redspokes inaugural tour! The people are so friendly and curious about visitors. The food was wonderful. There is a rich Buddhist culture and it was incredible to visit Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, the temples of Bagan and all the local stupas. While the poverty was obvious, as well as the lack of quality roads, I still learned a lot and felt I was providing money into the country. As Burma opens to tourism, I was glad to be there to experience this amazing country!

redspokes gives you an unparalleled opportunity to explore what a country's really like. In our trip to Colombia, we experienced amazing hospitality and warmth from the local people, great weather, aguardiente and dancing, and of course... as many hills as we could handle! redspokes take care of all the logistics and provide great support, leaving you free to relax, cycle and soak it all up! Highly recommended and would book again.

Gordon Leith, Meols, Merseyside, England
A great trip in Laos, the variety of cycling was perfect, the people were so warm and friendly and the redspokes support team worked hard to make sure that we all had a great holiday.

Dominique Bongaerts, TN Leiden, The Netherlands
Again a fantastic cycling trip with overwhelming hospitality of the local people.
It was great to be accompanied by local cyclistas while going up hill and I still wonder whether the Movie star guy waving at us was Quintana.

Paul Noonan, Tauranga, New Zealand
A very enjoyable, well organised trip. There was a good mix of experiencing the country, with the comforts that Westerners like when doing demanding exercise.
We had a great group, and were fortunate with the weather- everyone cycled the lot.

Peter Durrant, Guildford, Surrey, England
Khen was an outstanding tour leader. His love of his country, Laos, and his commitment to everyone having a good time was faultless. He had a really strong level of English and was 'in tune' with the cultural differences of the different members of the trip. He had tireless energy and a great sense of humour and could crack jokes about himself. He was diligent in the way he carefully described each day's events so we knew what to expect each day.
His support team did an excellent job of checking and servicing bikes and serving up a great variety of food at the rest stops. They were always there, especially when we were tired and hungry. All logistics worked perfectly and nobody got ill from any of the food.
Overall this was a really great trip.

Louise Ryan, Pearl Beach, Australia
I loved this tour! Kalayar's caring and thoughtful leadership added significant value .... She ensured that her cyclists were not only healthy and happy, but that we were learning and experiencing the culture of here beloved Myanmar.

Celia Parker, London,England
The warm welcome and stunning scenery in Pakistan was unforgettable.
Mike Wood, Surrey
I really enjoyed the trip, my first to such remote locations. The support team was excellent, always there with a friendly smile and an offer of a cup of tea. Although it was disappointing that the Chinese border was closed for ten days, those of us with mountain bikes were kept well exercised. The generosity and friendliness of the people in the Hunza valley was a real bonus. The contrast between landscapes in the three countries was also a highlight.

Harry Lyons, London
The support teams, especially in Pakistan where we spent most time, were wonderful - personable, knowledgeable, generous, hard-working and efficient at sorting out local problems. Tour leader, "Dermot the Great", personified the three e's - energy, enthusiasm and efficiency and managed the difficult task of balancing the needs of the group with the needs of individuals. Highly recommended to cyclists of all types.
Andrew Hearn, Scunthorpe, England, UK
Another memorable redspokes tour that captures the beauty of Patagonia and offers an insight into the more developed side of South America but still allows plenty of 'off the beaten track' adventure to experience the other side of local Latin life.

My first redspokes trip and hopefully there will be many more. Such a fantastic experience and superbly organised but still in a relaxed 'nothing is '˜too much trouble' manner . Both before and after booking all my queries and requests were taken care of by Dermot, Bryony or Ann who were swift in getting back to me. Cycling the 'roof of the world' is amazing and the feelings you get cannot be put into words. Each day the ride never ceases to amaze you with different surroundings and each day seemed to end at an even better place to stay with enough time to enjoy it and then the support team would produce amazing food for all. The group was a nice size with a good blend of people and the camaraderie which occurs on a trip like this was fantastic to experience. All in all we were looked after superbly and the itinerary is well put together so you get the chance to acclimatise and there is plenty of time each day for the rides. I stayed in Nepal before and after the trip and redspokes were very helpful with ideas and organisation for this.

I would like to thank Eduardo for leading an outstanding cycling trip in the Peruvian and Bolivian Andes and the Amazon basin - he was a perfect ambassador for Peru and strove to make the trip as best as it could be for the cyclists. Many thanks also to Alex and Lucho for their tireless work in providing support for our group.
Thank you to redspokes for offering this cycling tour - the scenery was spectacular, the food was delicious, and the cycling was adventurous! I very much look forward to going on another adventure cycling trip with redspokes.

Ann Robertson, Edinburgh, Scotland
This was really an incredible trip and I'm so glad that despite being a bit unsure if I would be able to cope that I took the plunge and just booked it!
Ken, Mae and Lid were an amazing team and from teaching us the language to lots of laughs and fun they supported us 100% on the tour. We've come back with some new friends in Laos:
I loved the trip and would definitely do it again!

John Farrelly, Claremont, Australia
I had another great trip courtesy of redspokes, my third. Had a fantastic holiday with all problems sorted by Eduardo and his crew. All I had to do was ride, eat and enjoy the scenery. Definitely not my last tour with you guys.

Wendy Holland, New Zealand
One of the best trips I have ever been on, loved it all, I just had a big smile on my face everyday! Thank you so much for the opportunity; I have been telling everyone about it and redspokes. Ken, May and Daolit made the trip for me, you couldn't ask for a better trio. We quickly became friends and we felt like a family. I felt so sad saying goodbye to them and sincerely hope I see them again. Daolit and I have made a pact that I will repeat the trip when I am 70!

Tim Dunsby, Dorset, UK
A varied and excellent tour. Eduardo, Alex and Eduardo 2 looked after everyone exceptionally well. Eduardo was very knowledgeable and enhanced the trip for everyone. The ride out of Copacabana provided one of my best days on a bike ever and "the road of death" was very memorable. Overall great value for money.

Nigel Hardy, London, England, UK
The trip itinerary was at an ideal pace; fast enough to cover significant distances each day, but slow enough to absorb the stunning scenery. There was plenty of time for ad-hoc breaks, photo opportunities, interaction with locals and stopping off at places of interest en route. Food, water, shelter and mechanical expertise were always on hand, even in a difficult environment logistically.

Anna & Lynyrd de Wit- in 't Veld, Netherlands
We have had a wonderful trip with stunning mountains, warm people in not often visited areas. The tough roads, heat and upset stomach made it sometimes a challenge. But in the end of the day we always looked forward to a warm welcome in the homestay or yurt. It was a unique cultural experience. We can't decide on the trip's highlight: Whakhan Corridor, Karghush, Pamir Highway, and Karakol all deserve a nomination. Let the pictures decide.
Berta and Michael Glodowski, USA
We had an amazing trip. Mike had used you guys before, for his Tibet trip. He couldn't say enough about you guys. My first traveling excursion out of the country doing anything like this. Your services made it so enjoyable for me, that I am READY and WILLING to do something like this again. I am hooked.
The employees that were our guides throughout the entire trip in Cambodia, were extraordinary. We connected extremely well, and they were excellent in tending to our every needs, at times before we even knew we had needs. They were great. Our friendship has extended long distance to dropping emails and friending on Facebook, also sending pictures of our experience with one another. Some of the most gracious people I have ever met.
