Pereira

Pereira – famed for mountains valleys and coffee, the capital city of Risaralda department is situated in Colombia’s Golden Triangle, which is the area between Bogota, Medellin and Cali. The town is near to the Cordillera mountain range.

Pereira is the business hub of the coffee axis. Beyond its most famous product, arabica beans, the region also grows bananas, bamboo and sugar cane. At the centre of Pereira is Bolivar Square complete with resplendent with sculpture of the nation’s saviour naked on horseback.

The town is also renowned for hot springs and nature reserves, the best known being Los Nevados National Natural Park.
