The cycling itself was very enjoyable. Very flat, apart from the regular small bridges. Pace was relaxed. The absence of spectacular scenery after leaving the Angkor region, both in Cambodia and Vietnam was compensated for by the off-road cycling through small villages, paddy fields and plantations. The contrast between the two countries was very interesting, with insight into local life via regular stops to see local cottage industries and sampling roadside snacks. The local people, especially when you get out into the country were very friendly. A special call out to the guides, Phirun in Cambodia and Hai in Vietnam
