9 day off road
redspokes 9-day Mountains, Lochs and Glens cycling holiday departs from Inverness. Riding through forest and along the banks of legendary Loch Ness we head to Fort Augustus. From here we follow old military roads and new hydro paths as we cycle through stunning, remote areas of Scotland.
Biking across mountainous terrain, we’ll pass through remnants of the ancient great Caledonian Forest, rewilding areas and agricultural lands that were depopulated by landlords in the 18th Century Highland Clearances. During this section of the ride we will cycle through Alladale Wilderness Reserve, a unique highland rewilding project. We’ll encounter little other than long forgotten bothies and Highland cattle.
Reaching Scotland's west coast, we’ll experience the glories of the famous Fisherfield Five as we ride through a stunning scenery of munros and lochs with challenging climbs and thrilling descents. Our ride ends with a beautiful day cycling alongside Loch Maree, Scotland's fourth largest freshwater loch, through Beinn Eighe the UK’s first ever nature reserve, to Achnashellach before we transfer back to Inverness.
