Key Places - North Argentina
Rainforest, Ravines and Puna
The Salinas Grandes are accessed via dramatic mountain switch back road. Once a high altitude lake, Northern Argentina’s giant salt plain is a stunning white expanse of 8,290 km² that spreads as far as the eye can see – bring your sunglasses! The vast glistening plain set against clear blue skies is a sight to behold. Square pools cut into the crust with newly formed crystals are a marked contrast.
Local artisans sell all manner of carved and crafted salt goods from Llama to cacti.
"Our guide and driver, Taiel and Marcello were very helpful, knowledgeable and fun to be with. The bikes were first class. The cycling route was very scenic with little traffic although there..."
